about

Known as “The Great Bard of the Britons,” Taliesin (Welsh, meaning “radiant brow”) was a poet, historian, prophet and one of the most renowned strategists of the British Isles who lived between 534 and 599. Famed for his beauty and powers of poetry and prophecy, he served as bard to several kings of Britain, possibly King Arthur, and associated with the Book of Taliesin, a text from the 10th century containing his poems.

Through his poetry, he inspired the Celtic warriors of Britain in their struggle against the Saxon invaders. Near the end of his life, Taliesin prophesied the fate of the British, which had fantastic implications on modern-day Wales:
“Their Lord they shall praise,
Their language they shall keep,
Their land they shall lose -
Except wild Wales.”
Credit goes to writer and historian, Gregory Wright, at Mythopedia, where you will find a great deal more about the life…. or lives…. of Taliesin.

For this release, I will be donating a significant part of my sales to a charity, Razom for Ukraine, for the work they do there, especially in these dark times as they deal with the most unbearable and cataclysmic emergencies: the vicious and unforgiveable invasion by Russia. Razom is responding to this by providing essential medical supplies and strengthening the voices of Ukrainians.

In their own words: “Our focus lies in providing critical humanitarian war relief and recovery, depending on the most urgent needs as they evolve. Right now, this means delivering humanitarian aid in the form of tactical medicine, hospital supplies, and tech enabled emergency response supplies, as well as evacuating children with disabilities and their families, and advocacy.”
So, whether you buy this album, or not, please donate to Razom for Ukraine! And if you do buy the album, dig deep in your pockets because a substantial donation will go to them from this recording.
To learn more about Razom for Ukraine or if you would like to help in your own ways, please refer to this page, which is full of information on all of the different needs which they have: razomforukraine.org/faq/
